Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 8, 2026

General

This is a privacy policy for users of www.jobless.io ("Jobless"), which is operated by Jobless ("we", "us" or "our").

This policy provides users ("User", "you" or "your") of Jobless with information about who we are, how we process your personal data and for what purposes. It also explains your rights in relation to your personal data.

Jobless enables users to create AI-powered agents that monitor job postings from various sources and match them against user-defined criteria such as roles, locations, and preferences.

We are the controller of the personal data processed by Jobless and we are responsible for overseeing this policy and any queries which arise from it. We respect your privacy and take the protection of your personal data very seriously. If you have any questions about this policy, or wish to exercise your data protection rights, please contact help@jobless.io.

It is important that the data we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your personal data changes during your use of Jobless.

Personal data we collect

Personal data, or personal information, means any information relating to an identified or identifiable living individual. We collect, use, and store data about you which we have grouped together as follows:

  • Identity data — including your name.
  • Contact data — including your email address.
  • Technical data — including your IP address, login data, device details, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, operating system and platform, and other technology on the device you use to access Jobless.
  • Profile data — including your job search preferences such as desired roles, locations, industries, seniority level, and remote work preferences.
  • Agent data — including the descriptions, criteria, and configurations you set for your job-matching agents.
  • Usage data — including details about how you interact with the Services, such as pages viewed, features used, and actions taken.

We collect the data above directly from you when you create an account and use the Services.

We also collect and use aggregated data to monitor and improve the Services. Aggregated data is derived from your personal data but does not directly or indirectly reveal your identity.

How we use your data

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • to open and manage your account;
  • to manage our relationship with you, including notifying you about changes to our terms or privacy policy;
  • to operate our AI-powered job matching services, including sending your agent criteria to third-party AI providers for processing;
  • to send you job match notifications and service-related communications;
  • to administer and protect the Website (including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, system maintenance, support, reporting and hosting of data);
  • to measure or understand the effectiveness of the service we provide;
  • to improve our products, services, and user experiences; and
  • to protect Jobless and our users, and to comply with our legal obligations.

We will only use your personal data for the purposes for which we collected it, unless we have your consent or we reasonably consider that we need to use it for another reason and that reason is compatible with the original purpose.

AI processing

We use artificial intelligence to match job postings against your agent criteria. Your agent descriptions and profile preferences are sent to third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI) for processing. These providers process your data according to their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

We do not share your personal contact information (such as your name or email address) with AI providers — only agent criteria and anonymized matching context.

Legal bases for processing data

We rely on a number of legal bases to process the data that relates to you. We process personal data:

  • In order to fulfil our obligations laid out in our Terms of Use, including to provide you with the Jobless services. For example, this includes processing data necessary for you to create an account and to provide job matching results.
  • Pursuant to our legitimate interests (or that of third parties), where your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests. For example, we process personal data to understand how Jobless is used and make improvements.
  • In some cases, solely based on your specific and informed consent. In such instances, you would have the right to withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us.
  • In cases where it may be necessary to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation.

Disclosures of your personal data

We do not sell your personal information. We share personal data with third parties who provide services to us, including:

  • Authentication: Clerk (account management and sign-in)
  • AI processing: OpenAI (job matching and scoring)
  • Hosting: Cloud infrastructure providers
  • Analytics: Service monitoring and observability tools

We will also share personal data where reasonably required to respond to a legal request, or as necessary to protect our interests or those of a third party.

Data transfers

We use third-party service providers that may be based in different jurisdictions. Some of these providers may access your personal data in countries which do not have the same standards of data protection law as your home jurisdiction. Where required by applicable data protection law, we implement appropriate safeguards to protect your personal data.

Data retention

We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data, and the applicable legal requirements.

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. We will delete your data within 30 days of a verified request, except where retention is required by law.

Cookies and tracking

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We may use analytics tools to understand how the Services are used. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.

Your legal rights

Under certain circumstances, you have rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data.
  • Erasure — request deletion of your personal data where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it.
  • Object — object to processing where we are relying on a legitimate interest.
  • Restriction — request that we suspend processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
  • Portability — request transfer of your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent — where we are relying on consent to process your data, you may withdraw it at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, please email help@jobless.io.

We try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. Occasionally it may take longer if your request is particularly complex, in which case we will notify you and keep you updated.

Children's privacy

The Services are not intended for anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
